What's Good?

Here's a little project for The Bloguettes, if you so choose, that won't take long and will have a big payoff.

It's just this: I have discovered some sites and blogs that fill me with wonder and awe at how

* endearing
* smart
* original
* funny
* personable

people are. And when that happens, I like to share my discoveries with other, like-minded persons. That means You. So take a minute and list some Absolutely Fabulous Most Favorite Links to the sites that you love the most.

Now for some rules: No more that 3 or maybe 4 links per person. Yes, I know, it's hard to choose, but we can't devote this entire blog to favorite websites, now, can we? Another rule (don't you hate rules?): Anything goes. We won't make fun of you for choosing to mention Lindsay Lohan's blog or the NRA's website. Which brings me to my final, totally arbitrary rule: Please include a reason why we should bother going to that site. Make us want to go there.

Hope you're up for the challenge. Here's my list.

Big City girl meets cowboy, marries him and goes to live on a cattle ranch. She's funny, he's handsome and virile, four adorable kids. Ho hum. But then . . . you realize that the photos she posts are stunning, her point of view is unique, funny, and charming, and every recipe she posts make you want to get into the kitchen and cook.

Another woman's blog-like website, this one has helped to define the polymer clay art world. Not everyone will find it interesting but some of the work will make your jaw drop.

Yes, kids, it's the good 'ole Westchester Library System. It's on my list because not only can I reserve books, but I can download audio books, get book reviews, and read articles from publications that I'd normally have to pay to read online. I like to open up two windows in my browser, one with Amazon and the other with WLS. I can go back and forth, see what's good on Amazon and check out whether I can reserve it at the library. Beautiful.

This site is the granddaddy of hipster tech. In fact, it's been around so long that it's not cool anymore. Which suits me fine, 'cause neither am I. They've got great stories like 'Great Geek Debates: Kirk v.Picard' and 'How to Photograph Strangers on the Street,' as well as articles about the latest technology.
